The General Manager in charge of Strategy and International Relations at the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), Diana Okine, has announced plans to establish an academy offering structured training programmes for various players in the investment space.

Speaking at the 2026 “Ring the Bell” Ceremony for the National Investment Quiz in Accra, Diana Okine explained that the initiative forms part of the exchange’s broader effort to deepen financial literacy and inclusion.

NCA Publishes Qualified Applicants for 5G Spectrum Licensing Process

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has approved three telecommunications companies to move to the next stage of Ghana’s 5G spectrum licensing process.

The approval follows the completion of eligibility and technical assessments. The three successful applicants are Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana), Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (Telecel Ghana), and Goal Telecommunications Ltd.

Bank of Ghana Flags 20 Unlicensed Mobile Loan Apps

The Bank of Ghana has flagged 20 mobile loan apps for operating without the requisite licence or authorisation to provide digital credit services in Ghana.

The affected apps are Cascredit, Cash Future, Cash Cedi, Cashpal, Cashpal Pro, CreditGo, Funds Credit, Glow Credit, Moni Wave, MoniLend, Nova Cedi, Onua Loan, Quick Cedi, Sika Boost, Sika Credit, Sompa Loan, Sune Credit, Swift Lend, Target Credit, and Zoom Advance.

TAGG Warns of Price Hikes from Today, Questions Unexplained Shipping Charge Increase

The President of the Trade Advocacy Group, Ghana (TAGG), Kwadwo Amoateng, has warned that Ghanaian consumers will bear the cost of excessive import duties and shipping charges through higher prices of goods starting September 1, unless government takes action.

Engaging the press earlier today, the President stated that the group will no longer accept excessive and unjustifiable charges being imposed on them.
Amoateng added that ignoring this leaves traders with no choice but to pass on the cost to the ordinary Ghanaian.

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the creation of more than 120 employment opportunities through the the rollout of its 24-hour Prestige Centres across Ghana.

The initiative according to the authority will see more than 20 centres established in different parts of the country, allowing members of the public to access the services of the authority outside its traditional working hours.
