The Central Securities Depository (CSD) has launched the Investor Connect App, a mobile application aimed at making securities far more accessible, transparent, and secure.
The launch, which took place at Cedi House in Accra, brought together key stakeholders within Ghana’s financial ecosystem, including the Governor of the Bank of Ghana and the Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, among others.
Delivering his address at the launch, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson P. Asiama, clarified that the newly launched Investor Connect platform does not replace the role of brokers, custodians, or licensed intermediaries, but rather complements them and the work they do.

“It does not replace the brokers, the custodians, or investment advisors. Licensed intermediaries retain their respective roles,” the Governor stated.
Dr. Asiama also explained that the platform aims to improve transparency and make verification easier for investors in Ghana’s financial market.
“An investor who can see those records is able to verify them. Confidence in a market rests on precisely that ability,” the Governor added.
He also charged the CSD not to see the launch of the app as the end goal, but as the means to achieve even greater inclusion and deepen financial literacy.
“My charge to the CSD this afternoon is straightforward: treat Investor Connect not as an end in itself, but as a foundation for the next generation of investor services. Keep it secure, keep it reliable, and increasingly accessible. Listen to the investors who will now deal with you directly, and continue to align with international standards,” the Governor added.
Also present at the launch, the Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, Abena Amoah, urged the public to embrace and use the Investor Connect App, explaining that the platform can only create value once it is used.

“To investors and market participants, my request is simple: use Investor Connect, sign in, explore it, and tell us what works and what must improve. A platform creates value only when people put it to work,” Abenaa Amoah added.
The Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, also highlighted the advantages the app brings, arguing that Investor Connect will improve participation in Ghana’s financial market and, in turn, improve market liquidity.

“The effort being made to demutualise the Ghana Stock Exchange is another positive step, signalling a commitment to accountability, competitiveness, and high standards for investor protection. Greater participation by citizens will lead to deeper and more liquid markets. As more retail investors, young professionals, pension contributors, and diaspora Ghanaians enter the market, liquidity increases, transaction costs fall, and price discovery improves,” he stated.
The launch of the app by the CSD marks a new wave within Ghana’s financial system and investment space, with investors now able to track and check their investments from the comfort of their homes ,a development expected to improve trust in the sector.
