The Special Aide to Ghanaian Businessman, Ibrahim Mahama, Rafik Mahama has debunked rumours of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama’s alleged interest in acquiring the Volta Aluminium Company(VALCO).
In a post made on Facebook yesterday, Rafik Mahama stated that Mr. Ibrahim Mahama’s attention has been drawn to some allegations being made by some demonstrators who claim he is interested in acquiring the Volta Aluminium Company(VALCO).
Rafik Mahama however stated that he has no such interest and that this allegation is the latest of several allegations aimed at dragging him through the public eye for no good reason.
“Mr Ibrahim Mahama has no such interest and has not made any such offer to acquire VALCO.
Unfortunately the allegation, is the latest in several vile attempts to impute the integrity of Mr Ibrahim Mahama and subject him to needless public engagements.” His Special Aide stated
Rafik Mahama emphasized that the track record of businesses under Mr. Mahama’s portfolio proves they are among the best-run operations across the African continent, noting that all of Mr. Mahama’s business interests have been legally established or acquired, operating strictly within the ambit of applicable laws.
He added that Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has instructed his lawyers to take the necessary legal actions regarding the false claims.

The denial comes amid a follows staged a protest by the Industrial and Commercial Workers’ Union (ICU)-Ghana over reports of a possible VALCO sale, with some protesters alleging that the company could be acquired by Ibrahim Mahama.
